Venezia Lido

This tour starts from Tronchetto, where bikes will be handed out and a briefing given to participants.

We'll set off by ferry and arrive at the Venice Lido.
At 12 km long, the Lido is the perfect place to explore on two wheels.
After around 3.5 km, along a route where you can stop to enjoy the views over the lagoon opening up on the right, we arrive at the village of Malamocco.
Crossing through the centre of this small village, with its unspoilt, typically Venetian character, you'll breathe a completely different air, far from the bustle of San Marco and Rialto.

From here we'll cycle around 3 km along the murazzi (murassi in Venetian dialect), a sea wall built from Istrian stone during the Republic of Venice between 1744 and 1782, which over the centuries has protected the island of the Lido from sea erosion.
The murazzi give way to a road, along which we'll pass the majestic and elegant Hotel Excelsior, the Palazzo del Cinema and the Palazzo dell'Ex Casinò — the beating heart of the Venice Film Festival.

We'll ride alongside the beaches and colourful beach huts by the sea, and shortly after arrive at the Lungomare D'Annunzio, from where the streets of the island's Liberty-style quarter branch off.
At this point, we'll take the ferry again from the southern tip of the island, the Alberoni, towards the beautiful island of Pellestrina.

Along the way we'll pass through San Pietro in Volta, Portosecco and Pellestrina, picturesque fishing and market-gardening villages full of charm.
A lunch stop is planned on the island at a local restaurant.
Leaving the centre of Pellestrina, we'll cycle once again along the Murazzi just metres from the sea, as far as the southernmost point, from where you can venture on foot towards the Ca' Roman Nature Reserve — 40 hectares of wild beauty with sandy beaches and pine woods, a haven for many bird species.

We'll then get back on our bikes and head back towards the Venice Lido, where the ferry will be waiting to take us back to Tronchetto, after a spectacular ride between the vastness of Venice and the expanse of the lagoon and the Adriatic Sea.
